The short answer: A complete brand kit includes a logo suite (multiple formats and variations), a defined color palette with exact color codes, chosen typography, and a short guidelines document. A logo alone can't do the job because every printer, sign maker, and platform needs different versions — and without a system, every job means guesswork, delays, and drift.

Here's a phone call every business owner eventually gets. It's the sign maker, or the printer, or whoever's wrapping the trailer: "Hey — the logo file you sent is too small and it's got a white box around it. Do you have a vector version? And what's your exact gold?"

If the answer is "let me check" followed by silence, you don't have a brand kit. You have a JPEG.

What's actually in a complete kit

Why this saves you money

Every time you hire anyone to make anything — a sign, a menu, an ad, a website — they either work from your kit, or they improvise. Improvising costs you twice: once in the back-and-forth while they guess, and again when the result doesn't match the last thing you made. Multiply that by every vendor over years and the "cheap" logo becomes the expensive one.

A kit also protects you from the day your designer, or printer, or nephew-who-had-the-files disappears. Everything lives in one folder you own.

Already have a logo you love?

Good news: this isn't a start-over situation. A kit can be built around an existing logo — cleaning up the file formats, defining the colors it already uses, choosing type that suits it, and writing the one-pager. That's a common project, and considerably cheaper than a rebrand.

Whether you're starting fresh or systematizing what exists, that's exactly what Plan-It's brand identity service builds. And if you're not sure which situation you're in, ask — the honest answer is free.
